چکیده
In additioll to momilactone, phytocassanes A through E (diterpene phytoalexins) were detected in rice leaves in fields suffering from rice blast. Furthermore, phytocassane accumulation was mest abundant at the edges of necrotic lesions, indicating that the phytoalexins prevent subsequent spread of the fungus from the infected site. In pot experiments the pattern of phytocassane accumulation in rice leayes in an incompatible interaction (infection with an ayirulent race of Mdgnaporthe grisea) was more rapidly induced than i" a compatible interaction (infection with a yirulent race of

متن کاملPathogen-induced production of the antifungal AFP protein from Aspergillus giganteus confers resistance to the blast fungus Magnaporthe grisea in transgenic rice.
Rice blast, caused by Magnaporthe grisea, is the most important fungal disease of cultivated rice worldwide. We have developed a strategy for creating disease resistance to M. grisea whereby pathogen-induced expression of the afp (antifungal protein) gene from Aspergillus giganteus occurs in transgenic rice plants. Here, we evaluated the activity of the promoters from three maize pathogenesis-r...

Rice cultivar Tarom Dilamani becauded a fragrance, flavor, cooking and marketing is a qualitative rice in Iran. This cultivar have high susceptibility against blast disease (Magnaporthe grisea). One of the important trouble producers of the Dilamani's rice cultivar is chemical control against blast disease and cause poisonous pollution of natural environment. The best manner in order to control...

■ Abstract The blast fungus Magnaporthe grisea causes a serious disease on a wide variety of grasses including rice, wheat, and barley. Rice blast is the most serious disease of cultivated rice and therefore poses a threat to the world’s most important food security crop. Here, I review recent progress toward understanding the molecular biology of plant infection by M. grisea, which involves de...
متن کاملA Lipoxygenase Pathway Is Activated in Rice after Infection with the Rice Blast Fungus Magnaporthe grisea.
Lipoxygenase (LOX) and lipid hydroperoxide-decomposing activity (LHDA) markedly increased in the fifth leaves of rice (Oryza sativa cv Aichiasahi) after infection with the rice blast fungus, Magnaporthe grisea. The increases in the enzyme activities were significantly higher in response to infection with an incompatible strain (race 131) compared with infection with a compatible strain (race 00...
